How To Make A Cake...Without Baking It.

When it comes to cakes, not everyone has the time to make one from scratch and not everyone has the funds to buy one from a bakery, trust me I get it. But, when it comes to store-bought cakes, they taste great, but there isn’t always the best selection in terms of, cute decorations. Let me show you how to revamp a supermarket cake so you can fool your friends and family into thinking you have your shit together enough to make and decorate a beautiful cake all by yourself.

what you can use:

  • Fresh fruit (cherries, strawberries, blueberries, peaches, whatever fruit you desire)Edible flowers

  • Sweet, woody herbs (like rosemary and thyme)

  • Sprinkles (optional)

steps:

I like to start off by scraping off all of the decoration that’s already on the cake. It’s okay if you don’t get every single bit off, because we’re going to cover it up anyway!

Next, start placing your cut fresh fruit on top and sides of the cake. You can cover the entire thing, or just a small section it’s totally up to you. Because this is your cake, get your creative juices flowing and just do what feels right. No matter what you do, it’s guaranteed to look better than when you started.

Once you’ve decorated the cake with all the fruit you want, it’s time to add additional toppings like herbs, flowers, sprinkles, shaved chocolate...the list goes on and on.

And look at that! You’ve decorated a cake, and it looks pretty freakin’ fabulous.

You may not be ready for The Great British Baking show, but no one needs to know that! Tell them you baked it for all I care. You’ve created a unique cake without wasting much valuable time or effort, and that’s frickin’ fantastic.
